Observe National Work Zone Awareness Week

CSEA is joining in the observance of National Work Zone Awareness Week (NWZAW), which extends through Friday, April 25.

NWZAW is an annual campaign held at the onset of construction season to encourage safe driving through highway work zones. The underlying message is for drivers to be alert, be aware of their surroundings, and exercise caution when driving in work zones.

“As road work season begins, we want to once again highlight the importance of safe driving in highway work zones,” said CSEA President Mary E. Sullivan. “This year, we observe this week remembering our union brother Stephen Ebling, who lost his life while working in a Thruway work zone. As motorists, we must always use caution while in work zones; respect the zone so we can all get home.”
